How to use the 3MF to STL
- 1Choose a .3mf file exported from your slicer or CAD tool.
- 2Check the preview: all objects in the file are merged into one mesh.
- 3Confirm the size and units match the real part.
- 4Click Download .stl.
When you need STL instead of 3MF
3MF is the better format for modern slicers, but STL is still the format most model sites, older software, online print services and CAM tools accept. Convert when a tool refuses your 3MF, or when you only need the geometry. See STL vs 3MFfor a full comparison.
Going the other way
To package an STL as a 3MF with explicit units, use the STL to 3MF converter.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert 3MF to STL?
Choose your .3mf file above, check the preview and size, then click Download .stl. The conversion runs in your browser in a few seconds.
Does it work with Bambu Studio and PrusaSlicer 3MF files?
It reads the standard 3MF mesh data that Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura and most CAD tools write. Slicer-specific extras such as print settings, paint data and multiple plates are not carried into the STL.
What is lost when converting 3MF to STL?
STL stores triangles only. Colors, materials, print profiles, object names and per-object settings are dropped, and all objects are merged into one mesh.
Are units handled correctly?
Yes. A 3MF file declares its unit (usually millimeters). The converter reads it and writes the STL in millimeters, which is what slicers expect.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 200 MB are accepted. Because everything runs locally, very large files depend on your device memory.
